Appointments
Petcardia business hours are 8:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. We are closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and all major holidays. We strive to return voicemail and email messages as quickly as possible. Messages received afterhours and on weekends will be returned in the order that they were received on the next business day.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept several methods of payment, including cash, check, credit card, Care Credit and Scratchpay.
Health screening appointments must be fully paid in advance. If cancellation notice is received more than 24hours before the scheduled appointment, the prepayment will be held as a credit on the client's account. If the cancellation notice is received within 24hours of the scheduled appointment, 100% of the prepayment will be surrendered as a cancellation fee.

After-hours Emergencies
If you have an emergency, please call one of our partner hospitals and ask to speak with the Emergency Department. They will contact our doctors if they need assistance in the treatment of your pet's heart disease.

Hospitalization
Pets with advanced heart disease or acute symptoms may require overnight care. Hospitalization is provided by our partner hospitals: Colorado Animal Specialty & Emergency, Powers Pet Emergency and Specialty, Veterinary Specialists of Northern Colorado, Veterinary Specialists of the Rockies, and Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. If your pet requires hospitalization you will receive a separate estimate and invoice for these services.
Medication
- Please bring ALL your pet’s medications (cardiac and non-cardiac) to every appointment.
- All prescription refills must be ordered during Petcardia business hours. (M-F 8AM-5:30PM)
- If you need to pick up a prescription after business hours please call during business hours and pre-pay for the prescription.
- Please allow 24 business hours for all refill requests.
- Per federal regulations- our partner hospitals cannot refill Petcardia patient’s prescriptions without an exam. If you run out of medication during non-business hours you have the option of bringing your pet to the Emergency Department for an exam. You will have to pay the emergency exam fee. Refilling medications will be at the discretion of the doctor who does the exam.
- If you would like to purchase your pet’s prescription through a human or online pharmacy an “Outside Pharmacy Release” waiver must be signed.
